CAIRO – 29 January 2022: Ambassadors of African countries and their deputies toured Saturday at the Health Care Authority’s hospitals in Upper Egypt’s city of Luxor, to see the latest treatment trends within Egypt’s comprehensive health coverage programs.
The three-hour tour comes after the end of the activities of the first annual conference entitled as Egyptian-African Partnership and Ways to Develop Medical Tourism.
The ambassadors repeated the phrase “In Egypt, We take good care of you” to urge their communities and nationals to travel to Egypt to benefit from the medical tourism programs launched by the Health Care Authority in its hospitals that provide medical services as part of the comprehensive health insurance system that meets international standards.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, head of the General Authority for Health Care, said “we were very pleased with the visit of the ambassadors of the sisterly African countries to Luxor and their attendance at the activities of the first annual conference of the Egyptian-African Partnership and ways to develop medical tourism, which ended two days ago,” noting that the ambassadors visited a number of hospitals affiliated to the authority, such as Karnak International Hospital and Oasis Specialized Hospital, the largest hospital specialized in obstetrics and gynecology in Upper Egypt.
“We briefed them during the 3-hour tour about the mechanisms of treatment, patient registration, ways of treating foreign patients, huge medical equipment and distinguished medical cadres that perform their work in serving patients,” he added.
For her part, Dr. Heba Youssef, Director of Business Development and Medical Tourism at the General Authority for Health Care, said that recreational and tourist visits were organized to the important monuments in Luxor Governorate after the activities of the conference.
For their part, the ambassadors of African countries participating in the conference expressed their happiness over the “great leap that Egypt has achieved in the field of health care,” and praised the new comprehensive health insurance project launched by Egypt.
“We look forward to transferring President Sisi’s health experiences to our countries because of the planning and strategic depth we found in them aimed at reforming the health sector and providing health services of international quality.
