CAIRO -30 June 2025: Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty stressed during a phone call with Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Farsin Aghabikan Egypt’s firm and unwavering support for the brotherly Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.
Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdelatty congratulated the Palestinian Foreign Minister on her new appointment.
The Foreign Minister stressed that Egypt will continue to stand by the Palestinian people, especially during this critical juncture in their national struggle.
Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s intensive efforts to resume a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, in partnership with Qatar and the United States, and to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.
He also expressed anticipation for Egypt to host the international conference on early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza once a ceasefire agreement is reached, in cooperation with the Palestinian government and the United Nations, outlining the communications Egypt is conducting in this regard.
Minister Abdelatty condemned Israeli arrogance in the occupied Palestinian territories and the policy of starvation and collective punishment it pursues, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
The spokesperson added that the Foreign Minister reiterated Egypt’s total rejection of the brutal Israeli aggression against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, and reaffirmed Egypt’s firm stance against the displacement of Palestinians from their land.
He also strongly condemned the repeated attacks by Israeli settlers against innocent Palestinians.
Minister Abdelatty affirmed that Egypt will continue its diplomatic efforts to create a political horizon for the Palestinian cause that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, and for the Palestinian people to enjoy their right to self-determination based on the two-state solution. He also highlighted Egypt’s efforts to broaden international recognition of the State of Palestine.
For her part, the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates praised Egypt’s historic and supportive stance on the Palestinian cause, expressing deep appreciation for the efforts of the President of Egypt to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and to reach a just and comprehensive solution that fulfills their legitimate aspirations.
