CAIRO – 5 February 2025: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Tuesday a phone call from Jordanian King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, to discuss regional developments in Gaza, Syria and Lebanon.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, revealed that President Sisi and King Abdullah II discussed the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, including the exchange of hostages and detainees and the delivery of humanitarian aid and relief to the residents of the strip.
Moreover, the two leaders emphasized the importance of the full implementation of the agreement and the vital need to accelerate the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip to alleviate the catastrophic humanitarian conditions residents suffer from
Both sides reiterated the imperative to achieve lasting peace in the region by pursuing the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian State along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Furthermore, they affirmed the necessity to adopt a unified Arab stance, demanding the achievement of enduring peace in the Middle East, so as to achieve the desired stability and economic prosperity.
Additionally, the two leaders touched upon the latest developments in Syria, stressing the importance of achieving stability in the country and preserving its unity, territorial integrity, and the security of its people.
They affirmed the necessity of initiating an inclusive political process that does not exclude any party and embraces all components and factions of the Syrian people.
