CAIRO – 6 July 2025: Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty held phone talks with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah on Saturday to discuss developing bilateral relations and the latest updates on the regional and international levels.
During the call, the two sides reaffirmed the enduring historical and fraternal bonds uniting the two brotherly nations. They highlighted the significant progress in relations, driven by the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
This progress is reflected in the ongoing cooperation and continuous coordination between the two countries across all areas—bilateral, regional, and international.
The conversation underscored the alignment of views and the shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and advancing political and diplomatic solutions to regional and global crises.
The ministers discussed key regional developments, particularly the Palestinian cause and the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Minister Abdelatty outlined Egypt’s intensive efforts to mediate a ceasefire in Gaza and to ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid.
The discussion also addressed preparations for the upcoming Early Recovery and Reconstruction Conference for Gaza, which will be hosted by Egypt in collaboration with the United Nations and the Palestinian government following a ceasefire agreement.
Additionally, the two ministers reviewed diplomatic efforts to consolidate the ceasefire between Iran and Israel and to resume negotiations on the Iranian nuclear file, a step that is considered essential for de-escalation and regional stability. They also exchanged views on developments in Sudan and the wider Arab Levant.
The ministers agreed to continue their consultations to advance mutual interests and support regional peace and stability, in accordance with the directives of their respective leaderships. This dialogue reflects the deep and enduring relationship between the two nations—regarded as the two pillars of the Arab and Islamic worlds.
