CAIRO – 20 August 2021: Director of the Donation Unit of the National Project for Self-Sufficiency in Plasma Derivatives at Egypt's Ministry of Health, Dr. Mahmoud Fahmy, said that the centers of the National Project for Plasma Collection have witnessed a great turnout from donors since Thursday morning.



Fahmy explained, in a TV interview with dmc channel, that masks and all protective supplies are being distributed to plasma donors, along with drinks and water.



He indicated that the plasma collection centers conduct several periodic medical analysis for donors free of charge, including: HIV and hepatitis viruses and syphilis bacteria as well as a blood protein level analysis every 4 months.



He further added: "Teams were launched in several governorates in the republic, to encourage and educate citizens to donate blood plasma, within the framework of the President of the Republic's initiative for industrialization and self-sufficiency of plasma derivatives.”
