A publication published by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina on its official page on the social networking site “Facebook” prompted the closure of its doors to the public tomorrow, Tuesday, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of its opening; A wide debate among library visitors, what they considered is incompatible with the event and its value, while the library administration indicated that it will be open to students and researchers, but for a period of only 3 hours.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina published a publication on its Facebook page, titled “A disclaimer on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina” announcing the closure of its doors to the public on Tuesday, May 17, on the occasion of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the opening of the library.

The publication added, that work is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, provided that the library opens its doors to the public, from nine in the morning until three in the afternoon, and receives 500 dedicated readers; Of these, 300 are for daily ticket holders and 200 for members.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina noted, during its statement, that the library celebration is limited to senior visitors to the library, provided that the celebration will be held in the main hall.

Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Library of Alexandria, had received the Education and Scientific Research Committee, in the House of Representatives, yesterday, during their visit to educational institutions in Alexandria, and confirmed the existence of a major celebration in the library on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of its opening.

It is noteworthy that the Bibliotheca Alexandrina announced, in a press release, the holding of a celebration on Tuesday, May 17, to mark the twenty-year anniversary of its revival, which combines musical paragraphs, and some interventions on issues related to national work.

The celebration includes musical performances by a number of prominent Egyptian and international artists, including Ramzy Yasi, Farah Al-Dibani, Amira Selim, Maryam Abu Zahra, Sherif Mohieldin, and the Library Orchestra is conducted by Maestro Nair Nagy. , and interventions provided by both Dr. Mai Mujib, Dr. Marwa Al-Wakeel, Dr. Sameh Fawzy, and the celebration d.
