CAIRO - 25 October 2025: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Saturday at Al-Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo, Pakistani Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir in the presence of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Abdel Meguid Saqr and Pakistani Ambassador Aamer Shaukat, and Major General Syed Mohammed Jawad, Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Army.
The Official Spokesperson for the Presidency stated that during the meeting, President Sisi expressed his appreciation for the significant progress in Egyptian-Pakistani relations in recent years. He affirmed Egypt’s keenness to continue strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation across various fields, in a manner that serves the shared interests of both nations and promotes development and prosperity for their peoples.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the Official Spokesperson, added that Pakistani Chief of Army Staff Munir conveyed to President Sisi the greetings of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who commended Egypt’s pivotal role in promoting calm and stability in the Middle East. He also congratulated President Sisi on the success of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, which witnessed the signing of an agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip. The Pakistani side further praised Egypt’s tireless efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The spokesperson noted that the meeting also addressed regional peace and security in both the Middle East and South Asia. The two sides emphasized the importance of intensifying consultations between Egypt and Pakistan to prevent escalation and confront shared challenges, as well as exploring opportunities for cooperation in combating terrorism and extremism.
