CAIRO – 28 October 2025: Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty held several calls on October 26 with Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France; Georgios Gerapetritis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece; Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; and Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The discussions focused on developments related to the Palestinian issue and efforts to advance the ceasefire process. Minister Abdelatty underscored the importance of building on the outcomes of the historic Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit and the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, with the aim of fulfilling the aspirations of the Palestinian people and establishing their independent state.
He also stressed the need to move into the second phase of the agreement ending the war in Gaza and launching early recovery and reconstruction efforts.
The Minister reviewed ongoing preparations for the International Conference for the Early Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza, which Egypt will host next November. He highlighted that the conference constitutes a pivotal step toward unifying international efforts to support the Palestinian people and to rebuild what was destroyed by the war, in line with a comprehensive Arab-Islamic plan for early recovery and reconstruction.
The calls also addressed the critical situation in Sudan, particularly in El Fasher, which continues to witness escalating unrest. The ministers emphasized the importance of supporting regional and international efforts to achieve a ceasefire and reach a comprehensive political settlement, building on the outcomes of the recent Sudan Quartet meeting in Washington. Minister Abdel Aty further underscored the need to enhance coordination and intensify humanitarian efforts in the affected areas.
