CAIRO – 2 May 2021: Egypt's President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi greeted Egyptians on Sunday on the occasions of Easter and Sham El Nessim (Spring Day).
The president posted on Facebook saying, "the celebrations reflect the unity of this homeland and the cohesion of its people. Egypt has proved over the ages that its Muslims and Christians are one, and that never changes in spite of the grudge held by haters. Long live Egypt, and long live its people and Army until Resurrection Day."
Monday that follows Easter in Egypt marks Sham El Nessim where people eat colored eggs and salted fish to celebrate the advent of Spring.
