CAIRO – 4 August 2025: Nine military transport aircraft have taken off from Egypt over the past three days, carrying tons of food aid to carry out airdrops to the besieged Gaza Strip, according to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Defense on Sunday.
This comes in light of Egypt's role in supporting the residents of the Gaza Strip who are suffering from deteriorating humanitarian conditions and systematic genocide by the Israeli starvation weapon. The airdrop of aid coincides with Egyptian efforts to continue the flow of aid trucks by land.
Egypt’s National Alliance for Civil Development Work has launched its 11th humanitarian convoy to support the people of Gaza, dispatching 200 relief trucks carrying essential aid and supplies.
The 200 relief trucks, which were launched by 13 institutions of the alliance, are carrying 400 tons of necessary food supplies.
Additionally, two fuel trucks, part of the sixth aid convoy to Gaza from the Egyptian Red Crescent, were dispatched on Sunday, according to Al Qahera News channel. The fuel is intended to help restart operations at bakeries and hospitals in the besieged Gaza Strip.
In his speech at the sixth edition of the Egyptians Abroad Conference, Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said that Egypt plays an exceptional and unwavering role in supporting the Palestinian cause, grounded in its historical responsibilities.
Abdelatty condemned recent systematic campaigns aimed at discrediting Egypt’s supportive role in the Palestinian cause, describing them as driven by suspicious and misleading motives.
He added that Egypt has provided 70% of the humanitarian aid delivered to the Gaza Strip, affirming Egypt’s continued commitment to supporting the Palestinian people’s right to remain on their land and to establish an independent state.
