CAIRO - 6 August 2025: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed that Egypt is opposed to any plans proposing the displacement of Palestinians from their land as an alleged solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, assuring that Cairo is prepared to deliver aid to the people of the Gaza Strip at any time.
This came during a joint press conference Tuesday between President Sisi and his Vietnamese counterpart Luong Cuong, who is currently visiting Egypt.
President El-Sisi confirmed—during the joint press conference —that there are more than 5,000 aid trucks in Egyptian territory ready to enter the Gaza Strip from Egypt and other countries, but that the Israeli side controls and is positioned on the other side, on the Palestinian side, at the Rafah crossing.
Sisi emphasized that Egypt has not abandoned its role in delivering humanitarian aid to the people of the Gaza Strip or participated in the blockade of the Strip, reiterating his description of these allegations as "strange rhetoric."
President El-Sisi stated that over the past months since the situation in the Gaza Strip escalated, since October 7, Egypt alone has provided more than 70 percent of all relief and humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed that the current war in the Gaza Strip is no longer a war to achieve political goals or release hostages, but rather a war of starvation, genocide, and the liquidation of the Palestinian cause.
Speaking with the President of Vietnam at Al-Ittihadiya Palace Tuesday at the press conference, President Sisi appealed to international public opinion, not just Egypt, that the situation in the Gaza Strip is being used as a political bargaining card, criticizing the international community's inaction.
President Sisi pointed out that the Gaza Strip is connected to the outside world by five crossings, including the Rafah crossing, while the rest are managed by the Israeli side.
The President emphasized that over the past twenty years, Egypt has been trying to prevent the situation in Gaza from escalating, adding "we had anticipated that any attempt at fighting would have devastating consequences for the Gaza Strip."
He further said that this is the fifth war in which Egypt has played a positive and active role, adding, "We are making this effort to try to play a positive, peaceful role in any conflict in our region or elsewhere, and we are making a major effort to stop the war and allow aid in."

"There are more than 5,000 aid trucks in Egyptian territory ready to enter the Gaza Strip from Egypt and other countries, but the Israeli side controls and is stationed on the other side, on the Palestinian side, at the Rafah crossing," President Sisi said. He also emphasized that Egypt has not abandoned its role in bringing humanitarian aid to the people of the Gaza Strip and never participated in the siege of the Strip.
President Sisi added that there is a systematic genocide in the Gaza Strip and the liquidation of the Palestinian cause, adding, "I previously appealed to the world, European countries, and US President Donald Trump to intervene to stop the war and allow aid in. I reiterate my appeal to all of them until this war stops."
President Sisi explained that history will pause for a long time and will hold many countries accountable and judge them for their stance in this war: "The global human conscience will not remain silent for long”, he added.
