CAIRO – 9 February 2021: Egypt's House of Representatives approved a grant agreement (technical assistance) between Egypt and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to renovate the first line of Cairo metro line.
According to the agreement signed in 21st of October 2020, this agreement allocates 3 million and 5 thousand Euros as assistance,
The duration of the implementation of the project has been argued to be long. In response, the head of the Tunnel’s Authority ensured that time will be reduced from 6 years to only four years.
For his part, Parliamentarian Fathy Kandil called on connecting metro lines to all new cities in Egypt.
