The activities of the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development "Mondiaclt 2022" kicked off today, in Mexico City, and will continue until Friday, September 30, 2022 AD, with the participation of a group of culture ministers.


The activities of the UNESCO World Conference "Mondiaclt 2022" will discuss reconfirming the global commitment to contemporary challenges facing multicultural societies, and developing a forward-looking vision for cultural policies.

The Saudi Minister of Culture chaired the regional consultations for the Arab region of the Cultural Policies Conference, where the consultations focused - according to SPA news agency - on 4 main goals: identifying the national and regional trends of cultural policies in countries, identifying and analyzing challenges and opportunities for cultural policies throughout the region, and supporting Inclusion of culture in the agenda of regional trends, and identification of priorities that can contribute to the final statement of "Mondiaclt".

The conference seeks to discuss a set of axes, the most important of which are strengthening the role of the cultural sector as a major driver of advancement and sustainable development, responding to the opportunities and challenges of digitization and promoting cultural diversity, protecting cultural heritage and harnessing it for community service and cultural diplomacy, promoting the creative economy, developing infrastructure, and enhancing education, training and capacity building in the cultural sector. targeting and employing young people.

It is noteworthy that the Mondiacult 2022 conference, at the ministerial level, aims to strengthen the cultural sector to become more robust and flexible, in addition to enabling the creative economy and supporting member states in implementing and implementing their cultural policies.

The conference also seeks to create a global dialogue on the role of culture in sustainable development, forty years after the holding of the first historic conference on cultural policies hosted by Mexico City in 1982 and twenty-four years after the Intergovernmental Conference on Cultural Policies for Development hosted by Stockholm in 1998.
