CAIRO – 10 February 2025: Egyptian medical teams at Rafah crossing are undergoing intensive preparations to receive new batches of wounded and injured Palestinians coming from the Gaza Strip to receive treatment in local hospitals.

These efforts come within the framework of the ongoing humanitarian support provided by Egypt to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, especially in light of the difficult circumstances the Strip is going through.

Since the reopening of the Rafah land crossing, after a nine-month closure due to Israeli occupation, Egyptian medical teams have been working around the clock to ensure the reception of the wounded and provide them with urgent medical care.

Ambulances equipped with all modern medical equipment have been set up, waiting for the arrival of the wounded to transfer them quickly to Egyptian hospitals.

In the past hours, the eighth batch of wounded and injured Palestinians arrived in Egypt, as they were transported by ambulances from the Rafah crossing to the hospitals of Arish and Sheikh Zuweid in North Sinai. This batch included 50 injured and sick people, in addition to a number of their companions.

Regarding the cases’ geographical distribution, all injuries are classified upon arrival at the crossing, as critical cases are transferred to equipped hospitals in Cairo and the governorates, while other cases are treated in hospitals in Arish, Sheikh Zuweid and Bir al-Abd in North Sinai.
