CAIRO – 24 September 2021: Egyptian bulldozers and machinery started working on Thursday northern Gaza Strip within works carried out to renovate Rashid Coastal Street, as reported by Sawa news agency.
A source told the agency Tuesday that a team of Egyptian engineers had arrived in Gaza through Rafah Crossing to supervise reconstruction.
It is noted that the removal of ruins by Egypt started in June in the aftermath of Israeli airstrikes against the Strip in May.
The reconstruction works assumed by Egypt are the outcome of pledging $500 million for that purpose by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.
Egypt had also sent humanitarian aid, food, petroleum products, medicines, and medical supplies. It also offered to build a residential neighborhood and name it the Residential City of Egypt.
