CAIRO – 6 September 2021: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi was briefed on the developments of the national project "Egypt's future" for agricultural production, which includes the reclamation of 350,000 feddans as a first stage, said the Presidency in a statement on Monday.
“Egypt’s Future” project is part of a comprehensive project "New Delta,” which covers a total area of 2.2 million feddans for cultivating crops that will be selected in terms of the nature of the soil, climate of the region, and water sources.
During a cabinet meeting, the President also was updated on the state’s plan of cultivating aromatic and medicinal plants that are used in the pharmaceutical industries, the statement said.
President Sisi directed the government to increase awareness campaigns for farmers when it comes to agricultural mechanisms, the best types of seeds and optimizing the modern and smart irrigation systems ahead of the winter planting season.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation El Sayed Al Qaseer, Commander of the Air Force Lieutenant-General Muhammad Abbas Helmy, Head of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces Major General Ihab El-Far, and Director General of the National Service Projects Major General Walid Abu Al-Majd.
