CAIRO – 21 August 2025: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met, on Thursday, with Saudi Arabian Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) in Neom, Saudi Arabia.
According to Mohamed El-Shenawy, Spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, Crown Prince MBS welcomed the President's visit to Saudi Arabia, expressing the Kingdom's appreciation to the strong fraternal relations it shares with Egypt.
He emphasized the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields with Egypt, in a way that serves the interests of both countries and meets the aspirations of their peoples.
The Saudi Crown Prince also praised Egypt's pivotal role in consolidating security, stability, and development at the regional level, based on its historical weight and strategic position.
For his part, President Sisi expressed to the Crown Prince his deep appreciation and gratitude for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, emphasizing the deep feelings of friendship and appreciation that Egypt, its leadership and people, holds for Saudi Arabia and for the close historical ties that unite the two countries.
He also expressed his aspiration to continue building on the qualitative leap achieved in bilateral relations, contributing to strengthening the economic and trade partnership and meeting the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
The meeting witnessed in-depth discussions on several bilateral cooperation issues between the two countries. It was emphasized on the importance of enhancing joint investments and expediting the launch of the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council as a comprehensive framework for developing relations at all levels.
The two leaders also agreed to launch further partnerships in the fields of industrial integration, localization of technological industries, transportation, new and renewable energy, and urban development.
President Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince MBS discussed developments in regional and international issues of mutual interest, including the situation in Gaza.
The two leaders reviewed the Egyptian efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, in coordination with various parties. The President also affirmed Egypt's support for Saudi initiatives on the Palestinian issue, most recently the outcomes of the ‘two-State Solution’ conference.
They stressed the need to expedite the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, release hostages and prisoners, and reject any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land or re-impose the Israeli military occupation of the Gaza Strip.
They also emphasized the need to halt Israeli practices against Palestinians in the West Bank.
Cairo and Riyadh affirmed their determination to continue joint coordination and consultation, especially in light of the rapid developments taking place in the Middle East, while emphasizing the importance of supporting the stability of the region's countries and preserving their territorial integrity.
