CAIRO - 18 August 2025: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly received his Palestinian counterpart Mohamed Mostafa on Sunday in New Alamein City, to discuss the latest developments regarding the Palestinian cause.

The meeting was attended from the Egyptian side by Badr Abdel Aaty, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mohamed Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity; and Ambassador Ihab Soliman, Egypt's Ambassador to Ramallah.

From the Palestinian side, the meeting was attended by Major General Ziad Hab Al-Rih, Minister of Interior; Majed Abu Ramadan, Minister of Health; Stephan Salameh, Minister of Planning; Samah Hamad, Minister of Social Development and Relief; and Ambassador Diab Al-Louh, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Cairo.

Madbouly reiterated Egypt's unwavering position on the Palestinian cause, and its commitment to providing all forms of support necessary to end the war on the Gaza Strip and enable the Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate rights, particularly their right to self-determination through the independence of a Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He emphasized Egypt's “categorical rejection of any plans to displace Palestinians from their land, creating a new, unlivable reality, and liquidating the Palestinian cause. He also emphasized Egypt's rejection of the continued policies of home demolitions and settlement expansion throughout the Palestinian Territories, underscoring Egypt’s commitment to the unity of the Palestinian land in the West Bank and Gaza.

The Prime Minister affirmed Egypt's continued provision of all necessary support to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing, which operates around the clock. He also emphasized Egypt's continued efforts to ensure the flow of more humanitarian aid to our Palestinian brothers.

Madbouly highlighted Egypt's intensive efforts at numerous international fora, as well as within the framework of mediation with both the State of Qatar and the United States, to arrive at a ceasefire to end the war, ensure sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and hold the Cairo Conference for Early Recovery and Reconstruction.

Egypt also attaches great importance to implementing the outcomes of the High-Level International Conference on the two-state solution, held in New York under the co-chairmanship of Saudi Arabia and France on July 28. He considered this a step on the right path to salvaging the two-state solution and setting a specific timeframe for recognizing an independent Palestinian state.

Coordination between the Egyptian and Palestinian sides will continue on the Cairo Conference for Early Recovery and Reconstruction in the Gaza Strip, which Egypt intends to host after the ceasefire, Madbouly said.

For his part, the Palestinian Prime Minister praised Egypt's supportive stance towards the Palestinian people during this critical phase facing the Palestinian cause. He emphasized that the Palestinian people and their future generations will remember this stance.

He also noted that without this firm Egyptian stance opposing displacement, there would be no discussion of the Palestinian cause today.

The Palestinian Prime Minister also emphasized that the Arab-Islamic plan affirms that reconstruction can be achieved without displacing the Palestinian people. He noted that they support the Egyptian leadership, saying that “voices opposing Egypt's role in the Palestinian cause should be disregarded.”

He thanked all Egyptian state institutions for their significant efforts in supporting the Gaza Strip, particularly the distinguished role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in supporting the preparations for and mobilizing participation in the two-state solution conference held recently in New York City. He explained that they count on Egypt's continued support for the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian Prime Minister discussed contacts made with a number of donor countries to the Palestinian people in preparation for the reconstruction phase in the Gaza Strip.

Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphaiszed the importance of coordination between Egypt and Palestine and international donor agencies, which will have an important role in the early recovery and reconstruction process, explaining that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to coordinate with the brotherly Palestinian side regarding the arrangements for holding the early recovery conference, especially with regard to the timing and sessions of the conference.

He stresses that while holding the conference, there should be an adherence to the political horizon for resolving the Palestinian issue in the form of a two-state solution.
