Egypt's Minister Makram praises Mary Alexander, 1st Egyptian acting mayor of Chicago suburb in US

CAIRO – 20 March 2021: Egypt's Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram praised on Sunday Egyptian national Mary Alexander as the first Egyptian to be strongly nominated for the position of mayor of Bolingbrook suburb in Chicago, United States.



Mary Alexander was also included in the list of the most 20 distinguished women around the world for the year 2021.


“This success is a cause of pride for Egypt,” said Minister Makram.


In a phone call, Minister Makram expressed her wishes for Alexander to acheive further progress and success in her career, as the latter is scheduled to run for the post of mayor within weeks in order to take up the position officially.


For her part, Alexander expressed her great happiness, affirming her appreciation for Minister Makram’s great efforts in caring for Egyptian communities abroad.
