CAIRO - 26 March 2025: The Rafah border crossing remains open on the Egyptian side as authorities await the arrival of injured Palestinians, patients, and their companions for urgent medical treatment.
However, the crossing remains closed from the Palestinian side due to Israeli restrictions, preventing the passage of humanitarian cases.
A source at the crossing confirmed that Israeli authorities continue to block the movement of people from Gaza, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. Despite this, Egyptian medical teams and ambulances remain on high alert to receive critical cases.
As of March 17, Egypt has received 45 groups of patients, totaling 1,700 injured or sick individuals, accompanied by 2,500 family members.
Meanwhile, all entry points to Gaza remain sealed for the 26th consecutive day, preventing the delivery of humanitarian aid, relief supplies, and essential reconstruction materials.
Hundreds of aid trucks have been stranded along the Rafah–Arish road since the beginning of Ramadan, waiting for permission to enter Gaza and deliver much-needed supplies to the besieged population.
