CAIRO – 30 October 2025: French Ambassador to Egypt Eric Chevallier visited the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing, accompanied by Major General Khaled Maghawer, Governor of North Sinai, as part of ongoing Egyptian and international humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
During the visit, Ambassador Chevallier inspected the Egyptian Red Crescent’s logistics center in El Arish, where he was briefed on the mechanisms for receiving and coordinating humanitarian aid arriving from various countries before its transfer to Gaza.
Ambassador Chevallier expressed France’s appreciation for Egypt’s substantial efforts in facilitating the passage of aid and coordinating relief operations through the Rafah crossing, underscoring Egypt’s pivotal role in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
For his part, Major General Khaled Maghawer affirmed that the North Sinai Governorate, in cooperation with the Egyptian Red Crescent, continues to facilitate the flow of aid and implement presidential directives to provide full support to relief convoys destined for the Palestinian people.
