CAIRO – 10 March 2025: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with Senate Speaker Counselor Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek on Sunday, as part of his visit to Parliament to meet with members of the Foreign Relations Committees of the House of Representatives and Senate.
According to a statement by Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Abdelatty praised the existing cooperation between Parliament and the various sectors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He stressed the ministry's keenness to participate in the sessions of the various committees of the House of Representatives and Senate to review the determinants of Egyptian foreign policy in various issues and highlight consular efforts meant to serve Egyptian citizens abroad.
Minister Abdelatty also reviewed the constants of Egyptian foreign policy and the serious challenges it is currently facing, addressing the Egyptian position on various regional and international issues, most notably the developments in the Palestinian cause, where he reviewed the outcomes of the recent Arab Summit and the strenuous efforts made by the Ministry to mobilize support for the five year Arab plan for the reconstruction of Gaza.
Moreover, he addressed the determinants of the Egyptian position on developments in Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, the Ethiopian Dam and the Horn of Africa.
The official spokesman added that Minister Abdelatty reviewed the efforts made by Egyptian missions abroad to support the development process and the national economy in Egypt by establishing a council for joint business, opening new markets for Egyptian exports, and encouraging direct foreign investment to Egypt.
He also highlighted the ambitious steps taken by the Egyptian state to strengthen Egyptian-African relations on the political, economic, commercial and investment levels.
