Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang hailed on Sunday Egypt's role to solve the current conflict in the Gaza Strip and efforts to reach a ceasefire.
In a press conference, he also thanked the Egyptian Red Crescent Society over its contributions to deliver aid through Rafah crossing.
He added that China supports the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights, establish a Palestinian state and to grant a UN membership.
He noted that China had called for holding an international conference on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
He called for reaching ceasefire, providing humanitarian aid to Gaza residents and implementing the two-state solution.
The ambassador added that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of new China and the 10th anniversary of the Egyptian-Chinese strategic partnership agreement that was signed in 2014.
He noted that China is considered as Egypt's biggest trade partner for 11 years in row.
