President Sisi discuss bilateral relations with Russian counterpart Putin

CAIRO – 15 November 2021: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Monday a phone call from his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement.

The talks tackled several issues, including bilateral relations and ways of boosting cooperation in the economic, industrial and energy fields.

They also discussed the latest developments regarding the Dabaa nuclear power plant and the establishment of the Russian industrial zone in East Port Said.

During the call, Putin affirmed Moscow's keenness to promote its fruitful cooperation with Cairo, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement.

The Russian leader also stressed the importance he attaches to regular consultations with President Sisi on regional and international issues, the spokesman added.

In turn, Sisi hailed the two friendly countries' extended partnership, which culminated in a ‘comprehensive strategic agreement’ that opened new horizons for joint projects and bilateral cooperation in many fields.

The phone talks also tackled files of bilateral relations and ways of boosting cooperation in the economic, industrial and energy fields.

Sisi and Putin also discussed top regional and international files of mutual concern.

Putin appreciated Sisi's efforts that have promoted political tracks for settling regional crises and consolidated Egypt’s role as a cornerstone for maintaining peace and security in its regional surroundings, stressing Russia's keenness to continue intensive coordination with Egypt.
