CAIRO - 19 May 2021: Two government-owned universities in South Sinai and Sharkia are set to be established per a Wednesday Cabinet decree.
Al-Ibtikar (innovation) University will be built in 10th of Ramadan City in Sharkia governor’s term, the Delta, to include faculties of physiotherapy, nursing, engineering, business administration and economics, computer and information technology, arts, and modern technology. As a legal personality, the university may add more faculties and institutes in the future.
The university is non-profit with the main missions of enhancing scientific research, networking with scientific institution and providing high-tech equipment needed for the learning process.
A branch of Suez University will be built in Abu Redees City in South Sinai on 50 feddans to include faculties of education, science, arts, and commerce to facilitate higher education for the residents the governorate.
Abu Redees branch of Suez University is meant to be a seed for an independent university in South Sinai that would work side by side with King Salman International University in el-Tur City in the same governorate.
The purpose of the two universities in South Sinai is to create a civilization and cultural leap for the locals and Bedouins in the area, and generating cadres of its own people to serve the different needs of the governorate.
