Sisi asserts Egypt’s support for Arab Parliament role as a platform that interacts with Arab peoples’ concerns Sun, Jan. 17, 2021
CAIRO – 17 January 2021: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting on Saturday with Speaker of the Arab Parliament Adel Al Assoumy in Cairo, where they discussed the role of the Arab Parliament for dialogue and democracy, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Radi in a statement.

The President affirmed Egypt's full support for the Arab Parliament as a platform that interacts with Arab peoples’ concerns regarding various vital issues, Radi said, noting that President Sisi stressed on Egypt’s support for the parliament’s role to contribute to the consolidation of stability of the Arab work system.

The meeting was attended by Egyptian new Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr. Hanafi Jabali, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Sameh Shoukry, Radi said.

Al-Asoumi praised Egypt's pioneering parliamentary experience in promoting joint Arab action at various levels, including the Arab Parliament, Radi continued.

Al-Asoumi also emphasized the President's role in preserving Arab national security, especially towards the Libyan crisis where Egypt rejected the foreign interference in Libya’s affairs.
