Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Tuesday on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The meeting underscored the importance of the strategic relationship between Egypt and the United States and the need to expand it across various areas, while strengthening coordination and consultations on issues of mutual interest.
The talks also covered a number of regional issues, including developments in Sudan, according to a statement from Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
