CAIRO – 1 November 2020: Health and Population Ministry issued a bundle of precautions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus among children in schools.

These precautionary measures oblige those responsible for distributing school meals to wear masks and clean gloves, and adhere to social distancing. Also, students are not allowed to share food or utensils.

The precautions also stress the necessity of using tissues when coughing or sneezing and disposing these tissues in a closed wastebasket. This is in addition to regularly cleaning the hands with soap and water or with a sanitizer, such as alcohol, and washing hands well after coughing or sneezing.

The ministry indicated that citizens should not deal with animals without following prevention methods.

"In case infection rates rise, the decision to shift to online education for the semester will be taken," Education Directorate director Mohammed Attia said.

The Health and Population Ministry has allocated the hotlines, 105 and 15335, to receive citizens' inquiries about the emerging coronavirus and infectious diseases. This is in addition to the WhatsApp number 01553105105, and the Egypt's Health application available on phones.
