CAIRO - 16 September 2025: President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi warned in a video conference on Monday that displacing Palestinians from Gaza would result in “unprecedented waves of mass displacement and illegal migration to Europe”.
The President participated in the video conference in the Qatari capital, Doha, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the emergency Arab-Islamic summit. The Emir of Qatar, the King of Jordan, the Saudi Foreign Minister, the British Prime Minister, and the Canadian Prime Minister also attended the conference.
The aim of the conference was to discuss regional developments, particularly the developments in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the Israeli aggression against Qatar, as well as coordinate upcoming relevant UN events.
According to the spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, Sisi said the Israeli aggression against Qatar was part of a series of measures taken by Israel to obstruct a ceasefire agreement, which would enable it to proceed with its plans in the region.
The Palestinian cause continues to be the central issue in the Arab world, and comprehensive peace in the region cannot be achieved without a just and sustainable settlement, Sisi said.
Sisi thanked France, Britain, and Canada for their intention to announce their recognition of the State of Palestine, expressing his hope that the two-state solution conference, scheduled for Sept. 22, would constitute a pivotal step toward recognizing the State of Palestine.
He called for confronting all the measures aimed at creating an uninhabitable environment in the Gaza Strip, with the aim of displacing the Palestinian people from their land and liquidating the Palestinian cause.
The President emphasized Egypt's absolute rejection of any proposals that would displace Palestinians from their land. Such proposals would only threaten the peace that has existed for nearly five decades in an unimaginable manner for all countries in the region.
He emphasized that preventing the displacement of Palestinians lies in a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which requires a firm and strong European and international position.
