CAIRO - 14 July 2025: Palestinian Fatah leader Yasser Abu Sido lauded on Monday President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's firm stance rejecting any and all plans to displace Palestinians from their land, describing the Egyptian president as "strong and courageous."
In a televised statement, Abu Sido said, "Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plans to displace Palestinians from their land resemble Shimon Peres's statements, in which he said, 'There is an extra population that must be removed,'" referring to the Palestinian people.
He stressed that Israel spares no effort in committing flagrant violations against the people of the Gaza Strip, in an attempt to voluntarily displace them from their land. He also called for a strong stance to halt this ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people for years.
For his part, Fatah leader Jihad al-Harazin asserted on Monday that the Gaza Strip has turned into a large prison for more than half a million Palestinians, amidst killing, genocide, and starvation. What is happening on the ground is completely different from the statements made by officials. The displacement plan is a pressing desire of the Israeli government, and what is being discussed under a humanitarian banner aims to displace Palestinians.
Al-Harazin said in a statement, "Israel controls the northern Gaza Strip and all eastern border areas, and has issued a statement prohibiting entry into the Strip by sea."
This comes as the Israeli plan to relocate Gaza residents to a so-called "humanitarian city" has sparked a wave of anger and sharp criticism, described as a prelude to large-scale forced displacement.
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz revealed details of this plan during a press briefing, explaining that it calls for the creation of a closed zone in the southern Gaza Strip from scratch during a potential 60-day truce.
The plan's first phase aims to relocate approximately 600,000 displaced Palestinians to the area, along with the establishment of four aid distribution centers run by international organizations. According to Katz's statements, the entire population of Gaza will be relocated later.
