CAIRO – 7 April 2025: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, witnessed on Monday the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries.
Both leaders also signed joint declaration to upgrade relations to the level of strategic partnership.
Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received at Ittihadia Palace, French President Emmanuel Macron, amid an official reception ceremony, where the national anthems of both countries were played.
A tripartite summit is also expected to be held between President Sisi, Macron and King Abdullah of Jordan after the end of the Egyptian-French summit, said the spokesman, adding the three-way summit aims at discussing conditions in the region including the developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Macron arrived in Cairo Sunday on a three-day official visit to Egypt. Upon his arrival, President Sisi accompanied the French President Macron on a tour of Khan El-Khalili, Cairo’s iconic market that dates back centuries.
Macron also visited the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the world's largest museum dedicated to a single civilization.
