Fresh Momentum for Investment
Speaking to the Middle East News Agency on the sidelines of the Egyptian-French Business Forum in Paris, Chevallier said the upgrade of bilateral relations to a strategic partnership during French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Egypt in April 2025 had provided fresh momentum to cooperation across multiple fields, particularly trade and investment.
The forum, organised by Business France at the French Senate, brought together more than 300 representatives from Egyptian and French companies and institutions, with the participation of Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh and French Minister Delegate for Francophonie and International Partnerships Éléonore Caroit.

Chevallier described Egypt’s economic dynamism as an important factor in creating new opportunities for French businesses and deepening bilateral trade and investment ties.
More Than 200 Business Meetings
Chevallier highlighted the scale of business engagement at the forum, which facilitated more than 200 bilateral meetings between Egyptian and French companies.
The meetings focused on identifying partnership opportunities and developing projects capable of generating greater added value, strengthening the investment and commercial relationship between the two countries.

The French ambassador said the economic and commercial dimension has become an increasingly important component of the broader strategic partnership between Egypt and France.
According to Chevallier, the Egyptian-French partnership is increasingly focused on strategic and development-oriented sectors considered priorities for both countries.
French companies, he said, remain interested in expanding their presence in Egypt and developing partnerships that can contribute to economic cooperation and investment.
The ambassador described Egypt’s economic dynamism as an important factor in creating opportunities for French businesses, while emphasizing the role of trade and investment in deepening bilateral relations.
Parliamentary Ties and Business Cooperation
Chevallier welcomed the decision to host the business forum at the French Senate, describing parliamentary relations as an important component of broader cooperation between Egypt and France.
He particularly praised Catherine Morin-Desailly, president of the Egyptian-French Parliamentary Friendship Group in the French Senate, for her efforts to strengthen ties between Cairo and Paris.
The ambassador concluded by highlighting the depth of the relationship between Egypt and France, saying bilateral ties extend beyond formal government relations and reflect broader links and mutual interest between the two peoples.
