Egyptian Expats Enthusiastically Vote in Final Day of 2024 Presidential Elections Abroad

In the final stretch of the 2024 presidential elections, Counselor Ahmed Bendary, the Executive Director of the National Election Authority, held discussions with ambassadors overseeing the overseas elections. The focus was on the developments during the third and last day of voting in 137 embassies across the globe.

During a press conference at the National Authority, Egyptian ambassadors affirmed the smooth progress of the voting process abroad. They highlighted the absence of any obstacles hindering the electoral procedures and citizens' ability to cast their votes.

Counselor Ahmed Bendary emphasized that any technical issues related to citizens' national ID cards would be promptly addressed, ensuring citizens can exercise their political rights without impediment.

The voting operations for the third and final day commenced at 10:00 PM Cairo time on Saturday in New Zealand, marking the last phase of the 2024 presidential elections for the Arab Republic of Egypt. The time difference meant the voting started on Friday at 9:00 AM local time in New Zealand.

The National Election Authority established a central operations room equipped with live broadcasting technology to monitor Egyptians casting their votes in election centers within diplomatic missions worldwide, including embassies and consulates.

As the expatriate voting process for the 2024 presidential elections entered its third consecutive day on Sunday, Egyptians abroad continued to actively participate. The elections are being conducted in 137 embassies and consulates across 121 countries, as outlined in Resolution No. 27 of 2023 by the Board of Directors of the National Election Authority.
