CAIRO – 3 August 2021: Fayoum governorate will soon host the first industrial complex as part of the initiative “Your Work in Your Village” to provide job opportunities for youth and women.
A statement by the ministry said today that the contract was signed by Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Fayoum, Eng. Mohamed El-Sewedy, President of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, Eng. Mohamed El-Sayed, Assistant Minister of Local Development for Planning, Osama Saleh, President of Ayady Misr for Urban Development, and Eng. Yasser Abdel Wahab, Advisor to the Minister of Local Development for Small and Medium Enterprises, and a number of officials at the Ministries of Planning and Local Development, the Union and Ayadi Company.
Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, stressed that achieving sustainable development in its comprehensive sense “requires advancing ways and mechanisms of effective cooperation and partnership between both the public and private sectors to enhance the state's efforts to achieve decentralization and comprehensive and sustainable economic growth.”
The Minister of Planning said that the state aims to increase the share of small and medium enterprises from the total number of employees from 51 percent in 2020 to 60 percent in 2024, as well as to increase the percentage of workers in the sector from 12.5 percent in 2020 to a rate between 18-20 percent in 2024.
The Minister praised the efforts of the parties to the protocol to cooperate in order to activate the “Your Job in Your Village” initiative, which aims to build a base for medium, small and micro enterprises at the local level, and to establish an integrated system to develop the Egyptian industry within the Egyptian villages at the level of the Republic.
