Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, and Major General Ahmed Rashid, Governor of Giza, inaugurated today the libraries of the Central and Public Arts Academy, in the presence of Dr. Ghada Jabara, President of the Academy of Arts, a number of parliamentarians in Giza Governorate, and deans of the Academy’s art institutes. She unveiled the statue of the late Dr. Fawzi Fahmy, the former president of the Academy.
The Minister of Culture inspected the halls of the Central Library, which is considered one of the largest academic libraries in Egypt, and includes a number of halls, Dr. Fawzi Fahmy's hall, which contains about 18,650 books, from the private library of the former president of the academy, in addition to his personal belongings of shields, pictures, and others, in addition to Halls, “University Theses, Arabic Books, Foreign Books, Periodicals, Academy Publications, Great Enlightenment,” “Tharwat Okasha and Muhammad Mandour,” “Saad Ardash and Hani Mutawa,” “Mustafa Selim.” I also visited the public library. Which includes more than 5,500 titles from the repertoire of books, periodicals, and encyclopedias. It also includes the library of the lawyer, Sayed Abu Al-Saud, which was transferred to the Academy according to his will.
The Minister of Culture confirmed that the Academy of Arts is one of the largest educational edifices specialized in the fields of arts and literature in the Middle East, which has embraced generations of creators who have supported the cultural movement and preserved Egypt's cultural leadership in various theatrical, cinematic and musical artistic fields, noting that today's openings It is considered an addition to the educational and research process, not only in the academy, but for all researchers, scholars, and those wishing to enrich their own culture in various fields of culture and arts.
The Minister of Culture stated that the academy witnessed during the last period a great renaissance at the level of infrastructure, as well as at the level of the quality of the educational process.
The Minister of Culture expressed her happiness at unveiling the statue of the late professor and teacher Dr. Fawzi Fahmy, the role model and ideal, which has a great impact on the academy and multiple generations of its graduates, stressing that placing the statue of the late great in one of the flag squares is a simple expression of our appreciation for a symbol of Symbols of Egypt's soft power
For his part, Major General Ahmed Rashid, Governor of Giza, praised the development renaissance at all levels that the academy recently witnessed, stressing his provision of all forms of support for the cultural and creative movement in the governorate, appreciating the ministry's efforts to raise awareness and build people, especially in villages that It is included in the presidential initiative "A Decent Life".
Dr. Ghada Jabara, President of the Academy of Arts, said: Today's openings come within the framework of aspirations extended from the first Minister of Culture, Dr. Tharwat Okasha, to Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, through a library that begins its early stages with the mothers of books, and the libraries of great intellectuals, which is a Sunnah of our teachers. The previous ones from whom we learned life and role models, and we open the first phase of it to become a cultural edifice that joins the Academy, explaining that it is planned for the Central Library to include an audiovisual library, stressing that the Academy will remain an edifice of Egypt's soft power with what it receives from Support from the Ministry of Culture.
