The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced that for the first time in decades, visitors to the Giza pyramids area can see the entire southern side of the Great Pyramid of Khufu.

For his part, Dr. Mostafa Waziri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, explained that the museum building had to be removed not only because it distorts the aesthetic view of the area, but also because the purpose of its construction was missing.
