For the first time in decades, visitors see the entire southern side of the Great Pyramid

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced that for the first time in decades, visitors to the Giza pyramids area can see the entire southern side of the Great Pyramid of Khufu.

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities completed a few days ago the work of removing the Khufu Boat Museum, which was built on the site where the first Khufu boat was discovered in 1954 at the southern side of the Great Pyramid in the Giza pyramids area. The rest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, obscuring the view of its southern side.

For his part, Dr. Mostafa Waziri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, explained that the museum building had to be removed not only because it distorts the aesthetic view of the area, but also because the purpose of its construction was missing. It is worth noting that the Khufu Boat Museum was built in 1960 in front of the southern side of the Great Pyramid in the form of a huge boat to suit the nature of the antiquity displayed inside. It was opened to the public in 1982.
