CAIRO - 9 September 2025: Egyptian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lt. General Ahmed Khalifa oversaw a major joint counter-terrorism drill under the joint "Bright Star 2025" military exercise with US forces, involving the storming and clearing of a simulated terrorist strongholds and restoring normalcy.
The drill included coordinated parachute jumps by participating forces, explosive ordnance disposal by military engineers, and a joint ground assault by Special Forces and police units. The exercise concluded with medical and logistical units restoring essential services.
Khalifa conveyed greetings from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Defence Minister General Abdel Mageed Saqr, praising the high-level coordination and readiness of the troops.
He emphasized that the exercise supports regional stability and reinforces each nation’s right to secure its borders.
Senior Egyptian and international military officials and attachés and media representatives witnessed the event.
