The Ministry of Culture announced the plan for the second phase to participate in the presidential initiative, a decent life, launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which includes 1,174 activities in 106 villages in 7 governorates and will continue until February 2022.

Inas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, said that the comprehensive development that the presidential initiative aims for is a dignified life, accompanied by an enlightening path that seeks to develop collective awareness through multiple and diverse intellectual, cognitive and cultural activities, and that participation in the initiative is one of the forms of implementing the strategy to achieve cultural justice through access to the creative product of the state to She explained that the activities targeted to be implemented address all age and social groups, and include musical performances for children, youth and adults, theater performances, artistic, literary and intellectual workshops, activities to discover talents, and workshops for handicrafts and heritage.

She indicated that the plan for the second phase of the Ministry of Culture's participation in a decent life initiative, which was launched this August and extends until next February, includes providing various activities in 7 governorates: "Assiut, Kafr El-Sheikh, Qena, Fayoum, Ismailia, Sharkia, Beheira, with 106 villages and their centers. Assiut, 18 villages in the center of Sahel Selim were selected: “Al-Shamiya, Al-Khawalid, Nazlat Al-Malik, Nazlat Bakhoum, Al-Awna, Al-Gharib, Al-Matmar, Al-Luqa, Al-Afadra, Nazlat Al-Sheikh Shehata, Bweit, Al-Tanagha, Al-Nazla Al-Mojadda, Tasa, Deir Tasa and Al-Ruwaijat. In Qena, The selection of 5 villages and their dependencies in the Waqf Center are: “Al-Qalaminah, Al-Hamoudi Island, Al-Marashidah and Al-Jamalah. The Ministry of Culture has prepared a rich plan to participate in the initiative that includes several stages, the first of which was launched last May with 74 activities in 21 villages affiliated with 6 governorates, the first of which began with shows of confrontation and roaming theater, where 8 free theatrical performances were presented that were held in open squares with the participation of senior artists in 15 villages affiliated with 3 governorates, 4 villages in Qena, 7 villages in Luxor and 4 villages in Minya, and the number of viewers reached more than 24 thousand viewers. The project of mobile theaters also joined the initiative, through which 66 cultural activities were implemented, including literary and artistic workshops, theatrical performances, plastic exhibitions, and educational seminars in 3 governorates It is "Al-Buhaira, Assiut and Aswan", where the activities reached 6 villages, 4 villages in the Buhaira governorate, a village in Assiut and another in Aswan. Providing the libraries of schools and youth centers located in the targeted villages with the various versions of the Ministry of Culture with topics that work on enlightenment and confronting intolerance, in cooperation with the two ministries Youth, Sports, Education, and Technical Education, and noted that one of the objectives of the participation is the implementation of the “Book Kiosk” project, which aims to provide the publications of the Ministry of Culture and the publications of private publishing houses after being selected by the Egyptian General Book Authority in cooperation with the Egyptian Publishers Association for villagers at reduced prices, in cooperation with The Ministry of Local Development, which is agreed upon to determine the locations and number of kiosks in each village according to the population density, in cooperation with several ministries and a number of civil society institutions.
