The Grand Egyptian Museum has finished raising and fixing 42 large-sized artifacts on the grand staircase and the rest of the pieces are being completed, after preparing and installing the bases of heavy statues, in cooperation with the Arab Contractors Company and under the full supervision of specialists from the Grand Museum at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and a careful follow-up by Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and General Atef Moftah, the general supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum, but the question that arises is how many pieces are left to be raised on the grand staircase?

The grand staircase At the opening of the Grand Museum during the last third of this year 2020, it will contain a large number of artifacts, which will number 87 statues, for the kings of the grand staircase, and this means that there are 45 artifacts remaining to be placed on the stairs.

Major General Atef Moftah, General Supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum project and the surrounding area, explained that practical experience has been done on operating the lighting system for the artifacts on the stairs, which would give an aesthetic touch to the museum's display of these pieces.
 

Dr. Issa Zaidan, Director General of Executive Affairs for Restoration and Transportation of Antiquities at the Grand Egyptian Museum, said in special statements for "The Seventh Day", that the work is carried out in a sound and distinguished scientific manner in lifting and fixing the antiquities, which are on the stairs, and the work begins from eight in the morning and continues until midnight, as The grand staircase will be one of the best exhibition halls not only in the Grand Museum but also in all museums of the world.

Among the most important pieces that have been completed and installed on the great staircase are the triad of King Ramses II with Ptah and Sekhmet, the statue of King Amenhotep III, the statue of Queen Hatshepsut, the statue of the god Ptah, the statue of the gods Hathor, and the statue of Senusert III, in addition to a distinguished set of other heavy monuments.

On the scenario of the undercover display of the great staircase, Dr. Al-Tayeb Abbas, director of archaeological affairs at the Grand Egyptian Museum, said that he focuses on the two themes of the royal image, the gods and kings, and is divided into four sections, and the first section will deal with how the king was represented in three-dimensional sculptures / sculptures, and many of these things are large And impressive statues while others will be smaller and with more details these exhibits will spread in history from the era of the ancient state until the Roman era, while the second section focuses on the status of the goddess, and this representation will include the kings during their participation in religious rituals and presentation The offerings of the gods, and this will be displayed in addition to the pillars, columns and other distinctive elements of the temples constructed for the gods commissioned by the king, and vary between the ancient, central and modern state.

The third section focuses on how the relationship between the king and the gods was and this will be evident through the three-dimensional sculpture, three and four statues of the king and the gods, along with the representation of one of the personalities of the gods in man, and the fourth section will focus on protecting the king's body after death, on Specifically, and only with royal coffins "square stone coffins only and the royal body mummified" from different periods, this part will display the cemetery of the Memphis in general and the three royal pyramids will be used in Giza that would be visible outside a panoramic window in the upper part of the great staircase To reverse an image The Eternal Ownership, adding that Region 1 also contains two regions which are "Digital Information" and "Timetable and Records", which belong to the entire museum, and in addition there will be a timetable that runs above the eastern wall of the Great Staircase.
