CAIRO – 14 August 2025: Egypt dispatched the 15th aid convoy to the Gaza Strip through the sub-gate of the Rafah land port, destined for the Kerem Abu Salem crossing in the southeast of the Strip.
An official source at the Rafah land port in North Sinai announced, Thursday, that the aid convoy is carrying food, relief supplies, flour, legumes, and essential medical supplies for Gaza, in addition to fuel and personal care items.
The source added that the trucks had lined up since early this morning in the Rafah land port yard, preparing to move toward Gaza. This convoy is part of the "Zad El Ezza... From Egypt to Gaza" initiative, reinforcing Egypt's continuous efforts to provide relief and alleviate the humanitarian crisis affecting over two million Palestinians due to the ongoing war.
Since March 2, Israeli forces had closed all crossings into the Gaza Strip, following the end of the first phase of a ceasefire agreement and a failure to reach a new truce.
The ceasefire was breached by heavy aerial bombardment on March 18, with ground forces re-entering various areas of the Gaza Strip from which they had previously withdrawn.
In May, after international pressure began piling up due to worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Israeli authorities allowed only limited quantities of aid to enter, which did not meet the minimum needs of the population.
