Sullivan emphasized the importance and strength of the Egyptian American alliance, and that the U.S. is looking forward to developing the strategic partnership with Cairo in the coming period.
On Monday, Sisi received Lieutenant-General Michael Corella, commander of the U.S. Central Command, who also emphasized his country’s “reliance on the active and pivotal Egyptian role in the Middle East and North Africa,” according to a presidential statement.
