CAIRO - 19 March 2025: The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on Tuesday expressing Egypt's strongest condemnation of the Israeli airstrikes that targeted Gaza Strip early Tuesday morning in a violation of the ceasefire agreement.

The Israeli bombings resulted in deaths of more than 400 Palestinians so far, most of them are women and children, and left hundreds wounded.

In the statement, Egypt described the latest Israeli attacks as “a flagrant violation” of the ceasefire agreement and a dangerous escalation that threatens to have dire consequences for the stability of the region.

Egypt reiterated its complete rejection of all Israeli attacks aimed at re-igniting tension in the region and thwarting efforts to calm the situation and restore stability.

Egypt also called on the international community to intervene immediately to halt the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, to prevent the region from relapsing into a renewed cycle of violence and counter-violence.

Additionally, Egypt called on all parties to exercise restraint and allow mediators to complete their efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On Tuesday, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) accused the Israeli occupation of violating the ceasefire agreement and evading its obligations, saying that the resumption of aggression and bombing of Gaza is "a continuation of the occupation's series of crimes against civilians in Gaza, at a time when the world is witnessing a suspicious silence regarding these violations."

Israel launched new airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, pledging to "escalate military force" after talks with Hamas regarding the release of more prisoners stalled.
