CAIRO - 16 March 2025: The Egyptian Foreign Ministry released a statement on Saturday expressing support for all diplomatic initiatives aimed at ending the Russian-Ukraine war.

The statement came in light of recent consultations held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to attempt to reach understandings leading to an end to the ongoing war since 2022.

In the statement, Egypt has emphasized the need to resolve conflicts through peaceful means, relying on the United Nations Charter and various principles of international law as the primary references upon which the international system is based and the established fundamental principles governing international relations.

Egypt believes that resolving conflicts through peaceful means and addressing their roots is the only way to restore security, stability, and peace.

Based on this, the Arab Republic of Egypt participated in Arab and African initiatives and the "Friends of Peace" initiative, expressing its support for every initiative and effort aimed at ending the crisis.

In this regard, it emphasizes the need to establish political solutions as the primary basis for resolving international crises.

This was reflected in Egypt's involvement in several initiatives aimed at resolving the crisis, and in President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's call in November 2022 for the importance of finding a peaceful settlement to this crisis, given its humanitarian, economic, and security repercussions.
