Egyptian PM participates in signing peace agreement in Sudan

CAIRO – 1 November 2018: Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly flew to Sudan on October 31 to take part in the signing of the peace agreement. The PM, who also serves as the Minister of Housing and Development, attended the signing in place of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.   On arrival to Juba Airport, Madbouly was received by the Vice President of South Sudan, Tabban Deng, and a number os Sudanese Ministers and senior governmental officials.   At the official reception hall, where the meeting was held, the Vice President of South Sudan expressed his gratitude for the presence of the Egyptian delegation, stating his deep appreciation for Madbouly being there and for the high-level Egyptian delegation that came to participate in the signing ceremony.   In response, Madbouly assured that Egypt is very keen to support South Sudan in all fields and that the government was very eager to partake in this important ceremony.   Egypt is adamant on helping South Sudan achieve stability and develop in a sustainable manner; therefore, Egypt will provide a multitude of forms of support to the Sudanese government and people to achieve long-lasting stability, according to Madbouly.   During his visit, Madbouly will meet with a number of officials, including President of the Republic of South Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit, to review ways of boosting bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
