CAIRO – 10 August 2022: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Tuesday a phone call from Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The two leaders tackled various crises at the regional level, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
The Qatari emir praised efforts exerted by Egypt under President Sisi to consolidate regional peace and security, most notably Egypt's mediation to reach a ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian and Israeli sides and restore calm in the Gaza Strip.
He also expressed his country's keenness to strengthen and open new prospects for cooperation with Egypt.
President Sisi, meanwhile, lauded strong ties between the two countries and their peoples within the framework of Arab solidarity.
He said that an agreement was reached to build on the momentum recently witnessed in relations between the two countries and continue coordination regarding various crises to maintain Arab national security
