CAIRO - 14 February 2022: CEO of France's Egis Group Laurent Germain has praised the important projects Egypt possesses in the oil pipeline sector in the region, which account for about 13 percent of the group's pipeline projects in the Middle East.

In a statement issued by the French Embassy in Cairo Monday, Germain expected the figures to increase in light of the new investments Egypt plans to carry out in the coming years.

"Due to the great know-how Egis possesses and the relations with Egyptian partners we believe that our presence in Egypt will expand," said the CEO of the French group.

He said the group works in Egypt under a new license giving it wider powers covering a great range of services in almost all engineering sectors including those related to designing, training and industry.

According to the embassy's statement, Egypt is heavily investing in founding a stronger infrastructure capable of meeting the needs of economic and social development and luring more investments into the country whose economy has succeeded to gain growing international trust.

In 2021, France signed with Egypt investment agreements worth 4.6 billion dollars in the fields of transport and renewable energy, a matter that made Egypt a strategic partner for France, said the statement.

As part of his visit to Egypt Germain met with French Ambassador in Cairo Marc Barety to discuss the possibility of taking part in strategic projects in Egypt.
