CAIRO - 14 March 2020: Egypt's National Council for Women (NCW) will launch on Monday a knock-door campaign in nine governorates under the theme of rural women entrepreneurship.

The nine governorates are Aswan, Luxor, Qena, Sohag, Assiut, Menya, Beni Suef, Fayyoum, and Matrouh.

The campaign - which is due to last until March 20 - is meant to empower rural women at social and economic levels in collaboration with the World Food Program.

In statements on Sunday, Isis Mahmoud, the head of the council's awareness department, said the campaign coincides with the council's efforts to support the presidential initiative "Decent Life" which aimed at supporting vulnerable villages.

The campaign will sensitize women to means of establishing their own projects and the services offered by various bodies, especially in view of the economic challenges posed by the coronavirus, she added.
