No cases of coronavirus recorded in Egypt: Government

An Egyptian Health Ministry spokesman said no cases of the new coronavirus have been recorded in Egypt, adding that it is ready to take all precautionary measures to prevent the deadly virus from entering the country.

CAIRO – 30 January 2020: An Egyptian Health Ministry spokesman said no cases of the new coronavirus have been recorded in Egypt, adding that it is ready to take all precautionary measures to prevent the deadly virus from entering the country.

Khaled Megahed stressed the readiness of all quarantine departments at the various entry points to the country. All travelers from the areas where the disease was reported undergo a medical inspection at the entry points, he said, adding that suspected cases would be immediate isolated.

He noted that those coming from China or any country that recorded cases become monitored by health institutions for 14 days.

Cairo governor Khaled Abdel Aal said fever Hospitals in Cairo are on high alert to be able to counter the coronavirus, Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.

Quarantine measures are applied to passengers coming from China, Abdel Aal assured Thursday.

All state apparatuses are acting to implement directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi with the aim to provide an integrated health system that would contribute to achieving sustainable development, the governor said.

No nCoV cases have been detected in Egypt, he affirmed, noting that the Health Ministry already issued a release focusing on the diagnosis of the virus and how to deal with it.
