CAIRO, 2 January 2020: The Egyptian metro company has launched its electronic website, which should be operative as of Wednesday.
The metro website, www.Cairometro.gov.eg, is provided in Arabic and English and comes as part of a plan for all government sectors to go digital, according to state news agnecy, MENA.
A metro mobile application was also launched in Arabic and English to communicate with passengers through social media websites, atop of which facebook and what's app, the company said.
The application also offers the "my trip" service, which provides the course of travel through connections with Google Map, it added.
Persons with special needs will also benefit from the mobile application, which will determine stations with escalators and trains with specialized seats, the company said.
This reflects keenness of the Ministry of Transport to easily communicate with passengers using such vital utility as the metro, it noted.
