A cultural year par excellence, the current year 2022 witnessed many important cultural and artistic events and events, which put the creative movement back on track after some stagnation it witnessed due to the repercussions of the emerging Corona virus, so that the Egyptian cultural street witnessed a great activity that expresses the momentum of the cultural and artistic movement in Egypt.

The current year began with the largest cultural carnival in Egypt, with the launch of the fifty-third session of the Cairo International Book Fair, at the Egypt Center for International Exhibitions, in which Greece was the guest of honor, and witnessed the return of the Child Book Fair, and the name of the late great Yahya Hakki was chosen to be the cultural figure of the year. Then, in the blessed month of Ramadan, the celebrations of "Cairo, the capital of Islamic culture" began with the opening of the Ramadan Nights Festival in the northern Cairo wall, and the launch of the tenth session of the Faisal Ramadan Book Fair for the Reduced.

With the onset of Eid Al-Fitr, the Ministry of Culture launched one of its major projects during the year, as it launched the "People's Cinema" project in order for the latest commercial films and works of major stars to reach Egyptians in all disadvantaged areas, and the project achieved great success with its launch.

In a major celebration that included many Egyptian creators, headed by the great pioneer poet Ahmed Abdel Moaty Hegazy, the Ministry of Culture celebrated the "twenties of the twentieth century" and the anniversary of the passage of a century since the beginning of the artistic and cultural renaissance that Egypt witnessed in various magazines of creativity, which achieved leadership in the region. And made the enormous soft power of Egypt.

The Egyptian success and honor on the creative level was great, as the Bibliotheca Alexandrina won the Sheikh Zayed Book Award at its sixteenth session for the publishing and cultural technologies branch, and the Mohamed Mahmoud Khalil Museum won the award of merit in the renovation and restoration sector in the competition organized by one of the major American magazines, for the best Construction work in the world, for the year 2022, and the ministry culminated its efforts in announcing the addition of celebration elements in the path of the Holy Family’s journey, within the UNESCO intangible heritage list.

Before the year concluded, the Egyptian Writers Conference, one of the largest cultural events in Egypt, came to life again after a two-year hiatus, as the Ministry of Culture declared the New Valley the Egyptian Capital of Culture for the year 2023, hosting the thirty-fifth session of the conference, which is chaired by the great writer Mohamed Salmawi, and holds The name of the late great thinker, Shaker Abdel Hamid, also launched the Youth Salon for Fine Art, the largest art exhibition for youth in Egypt.

In the overall activity of the Ministry of Culture in all areas of creativity, the Ministry organized more than 2,000 activities in the context of the presidential initiative, A Decent Life, and the nights of confrontation and roaming theater show exceeded 320 nights of performance, and allocated 1,600 activities for people of determination, and official publishing houses issued 952 new titles, including 18 translations from Arabic To other languages for the first time, the ministry replaced, renovated and raised the efficiency of 10 creative sites and finished 6 others that are scheduled to open in the first weeks of the new year.
